Health and Safety -Remediations 

• Before use, all water systems should be cleaned, flushed and disinfected as specified in BS EN 806 and BS 8558

• This involves adding an effective disinfectant, such as chlorine or chlorine dioxide, drawing it throughout the system and leaving it for a specified time (the contact time) to take effect

​​

• It is important to monitor the levels of residual chlorine at selected outlets to ensure the minimum required concentration is maintained throughout the contact period

​​

• ​The cleanliness of the system must be maintained, as legionella bacteria are more likely to grow in a system fouled with deposits​
